On-premise AI for European SMEs

Your company's AI assistant — running entirely on your server.

No cloud. No per-seat fees. No data leaving Europe. Local LLM, local vector database, MIT-licensed — sovereign by architecture, not by policy.

  • Air-gappable, GDPR-native
  • Flat licence, unlimited users
  • MIT-licensed, fork-proof

Built for European SMEs — law firms, engineering consultancies, manufacturing companies — whose DPO killed the Microsoft Copilot rollout.

Three pillars

Sovereign by architecture, not by promise

Copilot, Notion AI, and Glean all promise data residency, backed by a thirty-page DPA. DEM cannot leak data, because there is no outbound call to leak. Pull the network cable; DEM keeps working. Privacy physics, not privacy policy.

CAPEX, not OPEX

Per-seat AI pricing is a recurring tax on growth. A 100-person firm on Copilot pays €36,000/year, forever. DEM is a one-time licence plus flat annual support. Add 20 staff next year — same price.

Yours to own, MIT-licensed

The codebase is open source under MIT. If our company disappears tomorrow, your AI keeps working forever. No hostage situation, no end-of-life surprise, no acquisition price hike. Pay us for support — or fork it. Your call, always.

Built for the work European SMEs actually do

DEM doesn't try to replace your ERP, your CRM, or your accountant. It answers the questions you currently answer by opening twelve PDFs and a SharePoint folder nobody named.

Manufacturing · 80 employees

"Which supplier contracts auto-renew this quarter?"

The procurement lead used to keep this in a spreadsheet she updated by hand. DEM reads the contracts directly and answers with citations.

Law firm · 22 employees

"Have we written this clause before?"

Drafting templates lived in three associates' inboxes. DEM indexes the firm's archive — junior lawyers find precedent in seconds, not afternoons.

Engineering · 140 employees

"Where is the maintenance procedure for the 2019 line?"

The retiring foreman knew. The foreman after him didn't. DEM ingests the manuals, the SOPs, and the safety bulletins — and answers in the language the technician asks in.

How it works

  1. 1

    Plug in your sources

Network shares, SharePoint, email archives, an old NAS full of PDFs. DEM ingests where your documents already live.

  2. 2

    DEM indexes locally

Embeddings and metadata are computed and stored on the same machine. No SaaS round-trip, no third-party processor.

  3. 3

    Your team asks questions

Through a browser, on the office LAN. Answers cite the exact source document, page, and paragraph.

  4. 4

    You stay in control

Audit log of every query, role-based access by folder, one-click "forget this document" for GDPR Article 17.

What's inside

Multilingual out of the box

Ask in German, get answers from a French contract and a Spanish email. DEM speaks the languages your business already uses.

Citations, not hallucinations

Every answer ships with the source paragraph. If DEM doesn't know, it says so — instead of inventing.

Runs on modest hardware

A single workstation with a consumer GPU is enough for most SMEs. No data-centre, no Kubernetes, no SRE team required.

Office-suite friendly

PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, EML, MSG, ODT, CSV. The formats your business actually has on disk.

Audit-ready

Who asked what, when, and what answer they got — exportable for auditors, DPOs, and the occasional curious manager.

Air-gap mode

For regulated workloads: disconnect the WAN, DEM keeps working. Updates ship as signed offline bundles.

Simple, sovereign pricing

One-time licence plus optional annual support. Unlimited users, unlimited documents, unlimited queries — no per-seat tax. All tiers include the full product; the difference is how much hand-holding.

Questions we get every week

Do we need a data centre or a Kubernetes cluster?

No. The default deployment is a single workstation with a consumer GPU (e.g. RTX 4070-class) sitting in your server room or under a desk. We help you size it on the demo call.

What if our internet connection goes down?

DEM keeps working. The model, the index, and the UI all live on your LAN. The internet is only used for software updates (and the Sovereign tier doesn't even need that).

Which model does DEM use under the hood?

An open-weights model selected for European-language quality and on-prem feasibility. We pin a specific version per release so behaviour doesn't drift mid-quarter. We can run customer- specific models on the Sovereign tier.

How does this comply with the EU AI Act?

DEM is a general-purpose AI system used as a knowledge tool — not a high-risk system in the Act's sense. We provide transparency documentation, model cards, and an audit log to support your internal AI governance. We're not your lawyers, but we make compliance easier rather than harder.

Can a junior employee ask anything they want?

Only what their folder permissions allow. DEM respects the same access controls your file shares already enforce, and role-based filters can further restrict by document tag.

What if a document needs to be forgotten?

One click in the admin UI removes the document and every embedding derived from it. We log the deletion for your DPO's records.

How long does deployment take?

A small SME with a few hundred thousand documents is usually live in two to five working days, including the first round of ingestion. Bigger archives take longer to ingest — but DEM is answering questions while it ingests.
